- Chenille
Fabric Requirements:
Front of Quilt (I recommend using cottons or flannels or a combination)
- 3- 1/4 Yard Pieces for front squares (Fat Quarters also work great)
- 2 yards of fabric for the batting (this is optional)
- 1 ½ yard total of coordinating fabrics for the front rectangles (I recommend using 4-6 different fabrics)
- If using 4 fabrics get 1/3 yard of each fabric
- If using 6 fabrics get ¼ yard of each fabric
- 3 Inches of 4 different fabrics for the ruffle flowers
- 4 Fabric Covered Buttons
Batting (optional: I often use a coordinating flannel that isn’t the same color as the backing. If you would like to use actual batting instead of flannel I would recommend using warm and natural. Please remember when cutting out real batting for a quilt that you need to cut each piece 1 inch smaller on the squares)
Quilt Backing
How to make:
You simply cut squares, rectangle, and appliques; sew the applique onto the quilt (very simple, I promise), sew the the fabric together, and then clip and wash for your rag quilt!
Finished Quilt Pattern Size: 30x50 inches.
*Finally, MOST IMPORTANT to have a cutting mat and rotary cutter. They are almost ESSENTIAL to make this project easy and fast to complete.
